Introducing NEST

NEST stands for “Navigating Economic Stability Together” and is a privately funded basic income pilot designed to increase economic stability for families in the Grinnell community. Participants receive $500 per month for 18 months with no restrictions on how they use the funds. Participants must meet the following criteria:

Be 18 years old or over AND

Live within Grinnell city limits AND
-
Have a dependent, who is under 18 years old, living with you AND
-
Be currently employed in the service industry AND
-
Have a combined annual household income (pre-tax) at or below the annual guideline

About us
The Grinnell Education Partnership consists of three pillars supporting youth educational programs in Grinnell, Iowa. Grinnell College provides the primary infrastructure, while the Greater Poweshiek Community Foundation supplies and secures funding through its various networks. Rounding off the support team includes the ever-important community organizations which provide host sites, funding, guidance, technical assistance, taskforce members and more resources.
