On Thursday, July 5, Let's Talk on 1410 KGRN radio station with Tim Dill featured Liz Hansen, Coordinator of Collective Impact at Grinnell College for the Grinnell Education Partnership (GEP) and two summer learning AmeriCorps VISTA members, Lauren Pease and Maddy Strovers about the summer learning programs in Grinnell, IA. Peas and Strovers are recent graduates of Grinnell High School and first time AmeriCorps members.
Hansen shared, "Summer programs for Grinnell children include the Summer Learning IS Cool for Kids (SLICK) program of the Grinnell school district and programs of LINK Grinnell, Drake Community Library, Grinnell College Museum of Art, and Grinnell Area Summer Camp."
Staff in the five programs are joined by 15 AmeriCorps members, five who are GHS graduates, eight Grinnell College students, one from BGM, and one from Lynnville-Sully.
